Partners Unite to Bring the Sports & STEM Festival to Life in Bolu
The Kick-Off Meeting and the first local workshop of the Sports & STEM project—developed through international collaboration—were successfully held in Bolu over three engaging days. Representatives from Spain, Croatia, Slovenia, and Türkiye came together to launch the project and strengthen their partnership.
Throughout the meeting, participants took part in detailed sessions on project management, planning, and task distribution. Interactive workshops were also organized to support effective implementation and ensure a smooth project process. The event featured hands-on activities across various sports disciplines, along with group work and interactive learning sessions.
👥 In total, alongside 20+ professionals (project workers, researchers, sport professionals, teachers), 40 young participants actively engaged in both sports and educational activities, creating a dynamic and inspiring environment.
A major highlight of the meeting was the planning of the upcoming Sports & STEM Festival, scheduled to take place during the 2026 European Week of Sport. Partners collaborated on shaping the festival program, selecting sports activities, and even testing some ideas through pilot implementations.
An important outcome of the discussions was the recognition of a two-way relationship between Sport & STEM:
- 🔬 STEM education through sport, a well-explored concept in existing literature.
- ⚙️ STEM within sport, a more complex and less-studied approach.
The festival aims to integrate both perspectives, promoting STEM learning while encouraging active participation in physical activity.
Overall, this productive gathering in Bolu not only strengthened cooperation among partners but also laid a solid foundation for future international events and collaborations.
